BUSY WEEK
A quite busy week is over.
Monday I went to Oradea where I taught Old Testament Theology and Practical Liturgy at Emanuel University. I slept there for overnight and came home late Tuesday.
Wednesday afternoon we had three services with the guets from "The Cleaford Christian Fund" from England, visiting Sangeorgiu de Padure, Fantanele and Balauseri. We stopped in Viforoasa too, to see the rebuilt and renovated houses.
Thursday morning we had a visit to Iernut also, where Ottó Szűcs moved with his family (his wife, Melinda, and their son, Előd). Melinda is in her last year at the Medical University. Ottó graduated from the Seminary last year. They didn't have a home where to live, and the Hungarian Baptist Church not only invited them to live there, but also, to be their minister. Ottó is a good misician. The church-members started to renovate the backyard-house (former meeting place), turning it into a home. There is no heating yet! There is no bathroom! So, there is a lot of work, and much need. We would like to finalize this reshaping work before winter (if we will have enough money), and next year we will extend the building with another room (also, if finances will permit). Iernut is at 30 km from Targu Mures, being a centre for the surrounding villages. In some of them we already started some mission work, with more or less results. Please, pray for Ottó and his family!
From Iernut I went to Cluj on Thursday to an official meeting. That was also important. I came home in the evening.
But on Friday I went again to Oradea, and then immediately to Valea lui Mihai and Debrecen, Hungary. From Oradea the vice president for finances, and from Valea lui Mihai the president, general secretary and the local pastor came with me. We had an important meeting with the representatives of the Gipsy Mission Foundation. Some of the Gipsy churches are related with this Foundation, but at the moment being part of our Convention also. We hope, we will see the necessary results of this meeting in the near future. Please pray for those who are working in planting Gipsy (but Hungarian speaking) Baptist Churches in Transylvania!
Tomorrow I will preach at the 1st Romanian Baptist Church in Targu Mures (the pastor is not at home). In the afternoon I will preach in Reghin and at Apalina Gipsies (near Reghin). In all three places Cammid O. Arrendell will be with me, who just finished his teaching at the Seminary.
