Evangélizáció

Hétfőn-kedden Nagyváradon vizsgáztattam.
Szerdán elvittem az elektromos sütőt az asztaloshoz, hogy szekrényt készítsen neki. Perecsenben. :) Este Marosvásárhelyen prédikáltam az evangélizáló estén. Tegnap Máté Miklós testvér volt itt. Őt én vittem haza, reggel, útban Perecsen felé.
Holnap még itthon leszek, pénteken és szombaton Zilahon.
Mára hirdette a Szövetség vezetősége, hogy imádkozzunk és böjtöljünk a Teológia épületének ügyéért, amelyről pénteken megbeszélés lesz Zilahon, a lelkipásztori konferencián.

Homiletics, Onions and Decisions

All pastors and mission workers were together Monday in Hargita Christian Camp. It was a good time, when we discussed about evangelism: how we prepare these services and the church? After lunch each of us presented their situation, and we prayed for each other. I arrived home late evening. (About my visits to Reghin and Gornesti last Sunday, you may see some pictures in my previous Hungarian posts. And about Targu Mures' Church.)

Tuesday we had the Executive meeting of the Convention. Then I went to Pericei, and slept there. Wednesday morning I went to the church and pastoral house, than I made a contract in Zalau with Romtelecom, to provide Internet at the pastoral house in Pericei... Again, I arrived to Targu Mures late evening.
On Thursday I preached in Idrifaia. It was good to see the church, again.

Friday: teaching Hermeneutics at Szeklerland Bible School (in Hargita Christian Camp). Saturday I had a relatively free day: writing letters and organizing my things. We are in the process of packing everything in banana-boxes and other boxes... We have two more weeks for this.

Also, we are preparing for the largest baptism we ever had during the last nine years: there are at least 20 candidates. We have to bring more white robes - as usual - to have for everybody. Two buses will bring the people to the city from Apalina and Ocna de Sus. We expect to have all the pastors here for this celebration.

My Homiletic (How to preach) course will be published by a proper Publisher. Each pastor will have a copy, the Seminary students, and some more for those, who are preaching God's Word. This is an important step in my academic progress: I was working on this book beginning with 1994.
On the cover will be the picture of the statue of Daniel Rowland (without me!) - the great preacher of the great Revival in Wales. I was fascinated by his dedication and success in his preaching ministry.

During my pastoral ministry I served in three important villages: Moldovenesti (Várfalva), Chibed (Kibéd), and now Pericei (Szilágyperecsen). What is common in these villages? Onion! Yes, they all are famos of their original, delicious onions! Pericei got a Certificate last year from Guiness Book, because they woved together a twine of onion 3.8 miles long!!

Tomorrow I will be in Pericei, again. Please, pray for the meeting we are going to have after the morning service, electing a new leadership for the church.

Next week, Monday and Tuesday I will teach in Oradea: there are exams planned for all classes.

Also next week, on Friday will be an important meeting for the pastors: we will decide the location of the Seminary, and the future of the building plan in Cluj. For this we adviced the churches to give the day of Wednesday for prayer and fasting, seeking the Lord's guidance.

Körút

Hétfőn a Hargitán voltunk a lelkipásztorokkal. Arról beszélgettünk, hogy hogyan készülünk az evangélizálásokra. Este későn értünk haza.
Kedden Nagyváradra utaztam, az elnökségi gyűlésre, amely 10:00 órakor kezdődött. Az is este későig ehúzódott. Tíz óra után értem Perecsenbe...
Szerdán Zilahra mentem, hogy a telefon és Internet lehetőségeket megérdeklődjem. Szerződést kötöttem a Romtelecommal egy közepes sebességű Internet szolgáltatásra. A jövő héten be is fogom szerelni. Este épp hogy megérkeztem az itthoni bibliaórára.
Holnap este Héderfáján szolgálok, pénteken pedig a Székelyföldi Bibliaiskolában tanítok. Vasárnap újra Perecsenben leszek, amikor a gyülekezet új vezetőséget fog választani magának.

Abafájai cigány gyermekek énekelnek Szászrégenben

Ünnep (- egy kis beszámoló)

Ma is ünnep volt: vasárnap. Jézus feltámadásának emlékünnepe. De egyébként is, a Maros megyeiek értenek ahhoz, hogyan kell ünnepet ülni!

Már délelőtt, itt Marosvásárhelyen ünnepeltünk. Az istentisztelet után közgyűlésünk volt: amolyan évzáró-évnyitó alkalom, amikor pénzügyi beszámoló meg egyebek hangzottak el. A legfontosabb esemény persze, Kertész Barni tagfelvétele volt. A bemerítés január 27-én lesz. (Szeretettel várunk!) A gyűlés előtt közös képet készítettünk:

Délután Gernyeszegre mentünk, Mártával és Mírjámmal. Hát, kérem szépen, a gernyeszegiek is ünneplős hangulatban voltak: sütemény, kóla, ajándékok, miegymás...

Közvetlenül az istentisztelet után Szászrégenbe mentünk, ahol a gyülekezet már várt. Jelen voltak néhányan Abafájáról is. A gyermekek énekeltek, a felnőttek közül pedig hárman bizonyságot tettek a megtérésükről. Romeó is ott volt, akinek tagfelvételéről jövő vasárnap dönt a gyülekezet, de most újabb megtérők tettek bizonyságot. Hát, kérem, azt hallani kellett volna!

Ilyesmik hangzottak el:

- Tisztelt testvérek, urak, - erőt, egészséget!
- Hála legyen az Úrnak, hogy én is tudtam Nála felé térni! Mert mi nagyon elveszettek voltunk!
- De az Úrnak nagy ereje van a szegény emberen is, mint mi vagyunk!
- 41 éves vagyok, de nem tudtam, hogy az Ő szent nevit kell viseljem!
- Erőt adott a Jézus Krisztus, hogy tudtam elindulni és felfogadni hogy őt kövessem!

- Más (Sáska-sajnos róla nincs közölhető fénykép): 27 évet szivaroztam. Erősen elveszett fehérnép voltam!
- Aztán jött Attila. Kérdeztem ki az? Idegen? Azt mondták, hogy dehogyis! Az egy magyar! [Na, ezt jegyezd meg, Gipsey!]
- Mondtam: Tibike, mutasd meg nekem is! Aztán végül Klaudia mondta, hogy menjek fel hozzá, mert oda kell jöjjön Attila...
- Jártam az istentiszteletre, de a cigi ott volt a zsebemben! Azt mondtam: Jaj, én mind megyek és imádkozom, és a cigi még mindig a zsebemben van!
- Azt mondtam, hogy én megakarok térni!

- Mikor volt a fehívás, nem tudtam a kezemet felemelni! Hívtak: aki meg akarja adni magát, adja meg magát most! Aztán mintha Isten felemelte volna a kezemet!
- Azt mondtam: Nem fogok többé szivarozni! Akkor este még elszívtam vagy 5-6 szivart, és a többit oda tettem a szekrényre. Reggel nagyon kívántam, de akkor kimentem és sírva imádkoztam!
- Akkor nap a fiamat nagyon megvertem valamiért. És jött a kísértés megint, hogy vegyem a szivarat... Megint imádkoztam, és nem gyújtottam rá.
- Kérlek imádkozzatok, hogy a fiam is megtérjen, ne igyon többet, mert most minden este részeg! Bárcsak megtérnének Jézushoz mind, ahogyan én is megtértem!

Ez a szászrégeni gyülekezet - ma este

Egy kisfülpösi néni is jelen volt: Orbán Rebeka. Sajnos, a kisfölpösi gyülekezet (és falu) feltámadásáért még imádkozni kell! Ott lassan kihalóban van a képen látható korosztály. Pedig valamikor ott kezdődött Maros megyében a baptista misszió!

A szászrégeni istentisztelet után Vass György testvéréknél vacsoráztunk. Ahogyan lányaim mondják: mindketten nagyon puszkó, musztánti, klutty testvérek!

Important activities

From last Sunday morning until Thursday evening I was away from home: Sunday I preached in Pericei. Monday-Tuesday I taught in Oradea at the Seminaries.

Wednesday and Thursday we were working on the Songbook for funeral services and on the new edition of the smaller sized church hymnal (The voices of faith).

Friday evening I was in Magherani, preaching at an evangelistic service. The new church bulding was full!

Tomorrow I will be home, preaching during the morning service in Targu Mures, followed by a so called "business meeting": finances and future projects will be discussed with the church members, and the reports will be presented. For this year the main headacke is that we have to change the heating system of the church! (The old one is not acceptable for European standars...) In the afternoon I will preach in Gornesti, and in the evening in Reghin. (Farewell services?...)

Next week, on Monday we will be together in Harghita Christian Camp with all the pastors of the churches in Szeklerland. I have to deliver the introduction to the discussion called: "How we prepare the evangelism in our churches?" Usually we have this time evangelistic services in most of our churches, until Easter. The Winter is the Summer for the soul.

Tuesday I will be in Oradea at the meeting of the Executive. Among other things we will prepare the Conference for the pastors (25th January) when we will discuss the project of the future building for the Seminary.

Wednesday and Thursday I will preach in Targu Mures at evangeslistic services.

Friday - teaching in Szeklerland Bible School.

Only Saturday will be available to prepare for Sunday. Because next Sunday I will be again in Pericei: after the morning service we are going to elect a new leadership for the church.
